Thilina Balasooriya (Columbia College Class of 2026) presented “Effect of Skin Color on Thermal Camera-Based Measurements of Skin Temperature for Mass Fever Screening in Public Spaces” at the Columbia University Undergraduate Research Symposium. This poster was a culmination of Thilina’s summer research, funded by the Rabi Scholars Program. Under the mentorship of Ph.D. student Kaiyuan Hou, Thilina analyzed skin color bias from SIFTER, an RGB and thermal camera-based non-contact fever screening system previously researched by the group. Congratulations, Thilina!
