Call for Participation: Acoustics-Based Running Metric Estimation using Mobile Devices

We are conducting a running-related research project in the Intelligent and Connected Systems Lab at Columbia University. This project is led by one of our PhD students, Jingping Nie, who is also an RRCA Certified Level I Distance Running Coach.

You will be asked to run multiple running sessions at constant speeds ranging from 5 to 10 miles per hour (mph) based on individual running expertise, with each session lasting 5 minutes and allowing for breaks in between. You will wear different wearable devices during the sessions. We will use a locally designed smartphone app to record sensor data.

Each subject will receive $30 with valid running data.
Subject Requirements: age 18-60 & normal hearing, eyesight, and cognition & non-pregnant

If you are interested in participating or would like to know more details, please email ee-icsl-experiment@columbia.edu.
