Columbia Electrical Engineering Student Minghui (Scott) Zhao was selected to attend the 2026 MobiSys Rising Stars Workshop!
Minghui (Scott) Zhao recently defended his Ph.D. in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Columbia University. His research lies at the intersection of Embodied AI, Cyber-Physical Systems, and Mobile Computing, spanning areas in autonomous robotics, Internet-of-Things, and smart health. His work focuses on bridging the gap between digital intelligence and the physical world by building end-to-end systems that make artificial intelligence accessible, adaptable, and seamlessly integrated into urban environments. Scott’s research has been recognized by top conferences in the field, including the Best Paper Award at ACM HumanSys, Best Demo Award at ACM/IEEE IPSN, Best Demo Runner-Up Awards at ACM MobiCom and ACM SenSys, and a Second Place Winner at the ACM Student Research Competition.
